Play therapy is a child-centered therapeutic approach that uses play the child’s natural way of communicating to help them express feelings, process experiences, and build coping skills. In a safe, non-judgmental setting a trained therapist guides play to support emotional regulation, problem-solving, and healthier relationships. It’s especially effective for young children dealing with anxiety, trauma, behavioral challenges, or major life changes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Play therapy is most effective for preschool and elementary-aged children (roughly 3–22 years), but approaches can be adapted for younger or older kids.
The Clinicians mostly follow the child’s lead, offering gentle guidance and reflections to help the child make sense of their experiences.
Parents typically meet with the therapist before or after the session. For very young children, brief parent presence may be arranged to help with transitions.
Some changes may appear within a few sessions (better sleep, fewer meltdowns); deeper patterns take longer. We set clear, realistic goals together.
Coverage varies. We provide superbills and can discuss insurance and sliding-fee options during your intake call.
